Terms of Use

Last updated: October 23, 2026

What changed in this update: we rewrote these terms in plain language so they match how Mentornity works today and our Privacy Policy. We removed old wording about advertising and third-party tracking. We do not show third-party advertising in the platform. We did not add any new uses of your data, and you do not need to do anything.

1. About these terms

Mentornity is software that organisations use to run mentoring, coaching and learning programs. It is developed and operated by Plademy Oy, a company registered in Finland (Business ID 3386328-3, Lapinlahdenkatu 16, 00180 Helsinki, Finland). Organisations in the United States may buy it through our authorised reseller Mentornity LLC (30 N Gould St, Ste 4000, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA). In these terms, "Mentornity", "we" and "us" mean Plademy Oy and, where it sells the service, Mentornity LLC.

These terms apply when you use mentornity.com, the Mentornity web and mobile applications, and the program sites we host for organisations (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms.

If your organisation has signed an agreement with us (for example a service agreement, a data processing agreement or a student data privacy agreement), that agreement governs the organisation's use of the Service. Where it conflicts with these terms, that agreement takes priority.

Some programs run on a white-label site with the organisation's own terms. Those terms apply between you and that organisation. These terms still apply to your use of the software we provide.

2. Accounts

  • You usually join Mentornity because an organisation invited you to a program, or you applied to one.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Keep your password and sign-in methods safe. Do not share your account or sign in as someone else. Tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
  • People under 16 (under 13 in the United States) may use Mentornity only as part of a program run by their school or another organisation. That organisation is responsible for any consent required from parents or guardians.

3. Programs and organisations

Each program belongs to the organisation that runs it. The organisation decides who can join, what information is collected, who is matched with whom and how the program works. Program administrators can see and manage program data as the program's settings allow.

An organisation may ask you to accept its own program agreement or rules. These are between you and that organisation and appear in the program.

The organisation is responsible for:

  • having a lawful basis for the data it collects and the invitations it sends;
  • selecting and, where appropriate, screening mentors, coaches and other participants, in particular in programs with minors;
  • the content it publishes in its program.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of what you add to Mentornity, such as your profile, messages, notes, files, form answers and feedback. You give us permission to store, process and display that content only as needed to provide the Service to you and your organisation. Who can see your content depends on the program's settings. Program administrators may have access to program content.

You are responsible for the content you share. Only share content you have the right to share.

5. Acceptable use

When you use Mentornity, do not:

  • break the law or help others to do so;
  • harass, threaten, insult, discriminate against or humiliate anyone;
  • share illegal, harmful, sexually explicit or hateful content, or religious or political propaganda;
  • contact minors outside the channels and rules their program allows;
  • collect other users' personal data for purposes the program does not allow, or send spam or unsolicited advertising;
  • upload malware, try to access accounts or data you are not allowed to access, test or bypass our security, or overload the Service;
  • copy, resell or reverse engineer the Service, or access it with automated tools, except through features we provide for this (such as AI assistant connections or our API).

If you see something that worries you, contact your program administrator or write to support@mentornity.com.

6. Mentoring relationships

Mentornity provides the tools. It does not choose, employ, check or supervise mentors, coaches or other participants, and it is not responsible for the advice or information they give. Use your own judgement. If something in a mentoring relationship feels wrong, tell your program administrator.

7. Meetings and connected services

You can connect services such as Google, Microsoft or Zoom for sign-in, calendars and meetings. When you do, the provider's own terms also apply. You can disconnect them at any time.

In-platform video meetings run on our video servers. Do not record a meeting without the consent of everyone in it.

8. AI features

Some features use artificial intelligence, for example matching suggestions, help for program administrators and connections to AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT.

  • AI output can be wrong or incomplete. It is a suggestion, not a decision. People in the program make the decisions.
  • An AI assistant you connect acts only with your own permissions and only in programs whose administrators allow it. Every change it makes is shown to you first and waits for your confirmation. You are responsible for the actions you confirm. What the assistant's provider does with the information it reads is governed by that provider's terms.
  • We do not use your data to train AI models.

Paid AI features for organisations, such as the AI Programme Assistant, have their own additional terms, which the organisation accepts before use.

9. Fees

Using Mentornity as a participant is free unless your organisation tells you otherwise. Organisations pay according to their order, proposal or agreement with us. Payments are processed by our payment provider.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we process personal data. In short: we do not sell personal data, we do not show third-party advertising in the platform, we do not use program data for targeted advertising, and student data is used only to provide the educational service the school asked for.

11. Changes to the Service

We keep developing Mentornity. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove a feature your organisation relies on, we will tell its administrators in advance where we reasonably can. We work to keep the Service available, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or for reasons outside our control.

12. Suspension and ending your use

You can stop using Mentornity at any time and ask us to delete your account. Your organisation can remove you from its program.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users or the Service at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and explain why.

When an account or a program ends, we delete or anonymise the data as described in our Privacy Policy.

13. Our rights

The Mentornity software, design and brand belong to us or our licensors. These terms do not give you any right to them other than to use the Service. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve the Service without any obligation to you.

14. Disclaimers

We provide the Service with reasonable care and skill. Apart from that, and to the extent the law allows, the Service is provided "as is", without other promises, for example that it will always be available or error free.

15. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue or goodwill. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. For organisations, the liability terms in their agreement with us apply instead of this section.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when our Service or the law changes. We will publish the new version on this page with a new date. If a change significantly reduces your rights, we will tell you in the platform, or tell your organisation's administrators, before it takes effect. If you keep using Mentornity after a change takes effect, the updated terms apply.

17. Law and disputes

If your organisation has an agreement with us, the governing law and courts named in that agreement apply. Otherwise, these terms are governed by the laws of Finland. This does not take away any protection you have under the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
