Use Mentornity from your AI assistant
Mentors and mentees can connect their own AI assistant to Mentornity. Ask it what is coming up this week, find a free time with your mentor and book it, answer a match request or fill in a mentoring tool, all in the conversation.
- Server URL
https://api.mentornity.com/mcp- Protocol
- MCP, Streamable HTTP
- Sign-in
- Your Mentornity account (OAuth)
- Cost
- Included for members
Connect your assistant
Every assistant needs the same server URL. When you add it, a Mentornity page opens: sign in, check which app is asking, and choose whether it may only look, or may also act for you. Nothing is shared until you press Connect.
Claude (claude.ai, desktop and mobile)
- Open Mentornity in Claude's connector directory (or Settings › Connectors › Browse connectors and search for Mentornity).
- Press Connect and approve on the Mentornity page. On Team and Enterprise plans an owner may need to enable the connector first.
Where the directory is not available, choose Add custom connector in Settings › Connectors, name it Mentornity and paste https://api.mentornity.com/mcp.
ChatGPT
- In plans that allow custom connectors, open Settings › Apps & Connectors and create a connector.
- Use
https://api.mentornity.com/mcpas the URL and OAuth as the authentication, then approve on the Mentornity page.
Claude Code
claude mcp add --transport http mentornity https://api.mentornity.com/mcp Then run /mcp in Claude Code and choose Authenticate.
Cursor
Add to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (or the project's .cursor/mcp.json), then sign in from Cursor's MCP settings:
{
"mcpServers": {
"mentornity": { "url": "https://api.mentornity.com/mcp" }
}
} VS Code
Add to .vscode/mcp.json and start the server from the file; VS Code opens the sign-in page:
{
"servers": {
"mentornity": { "type": "http", "url": "https://api.mentornity.com/mcp" }
}
} Other assistants
Any MCP client that supports remote servers with OAuth works: it registers itself, opens the Mentornity page for your approval, and receives a token only for you.
What it can do
The assistant works in every kind of programme (one-to-one and group mentoring, structured and free-form, mentor pools) and sees exactly what you see in the web app, in the programme's time zone.

Some things stay in the web app: questions that need a file, date or phone number, signing up for events, visual mentoring tools (card sort, wheel, network), your photo and everything an admin does.
Your control
- Look-only by default. The assistant can act for you only if you tick Also let it act for me when you connect.
- Every change waits for your OK. The assistant first shows what will happen (who is told, how to undo it) and goes ahead only when you agree. The approval is tied to exactly that change and expires after 10 minutes.
- Only you. It acts as you, within your role in each programme, with the same rules and limits as the web app. It never sees your password and can do nothing as an admin.
- Other people's text is data. Profiles, posts and messages written by others are marked as such, so instructions hidden in them are not followed.
- Disconnect any time. Settings › AI assistants in Mentornity lists your connected assistants, what each did recently, and a Disconnect button that ends access at once. Changing your password or signing out everywhere also disconnects them.
Limits
| Limit | Default |
|---|---|
| Tool calls per connection per minute | 60 |
| Tool calls per person per day (UTC) | 2,000 |
| Changes (booked, cancelled, sent …) per person per hour | 20 |
| Changes per person per day (UTC) | 60 |
| Sign-in token lifetime | 1 hour, renewed automatically for 30 days of use |
Over a limit the assistant is told to wait; nothing is lost.
For programme admins
In the admin panel, Settings › Privacy › AI assistants turns access on or off for your programme. By default it is on, and off for programmes that use single sign-on or a partner brand. When it is off, members' assistants see that the programme exists but cannot read or change anything in it.
Troubleshooting
- "The admins have turned off access from AI assistants": the programme's switch is off; use the web app for it.
- "This connection may only read": you connected without Also let it act for me. Disconnect it in Settings › AI assistants and connect again with the box ticked.
- The approval page says the request expired: requests last 10 minutes. Start again from the assistant.
- Anything else: write to info@mentornity.com with the assistant's name and the time it happened.
