What Is Mentornity? The Mentoring Platform, Explained
Mentornity is mentoring software for companies, universities, accelerators, and communities: mentor–mentee matching, scheduling, structured sessions, and reporting in one place. Founded in 2015, it runs programs for organizations from Toyota and TIM to PMI Türkiye and the University of Basel, and is rated 4.7/5 on Capterra by the people who administer programs on it.
This page explains what Mentornity does, how it’s different, and whether it fits your program.
What does Mentornity do?
Mentornity covers the full life of a mentoring program:
- Enrollment. Bulk-import participants from Excel, or publish public application forms for mentors and mentees with auto-accept or manual review. Invitation emails are tracked: sent, delivered, opened.
- Matching. A rule-based algorithm compares profile fields with weights and mandatory filters, scores every pair from 0–100, and proposes assignments. Admins review each pair in a side-by-side comparison modal (both profiles, every rule marked green or red) and approve one by one or all at once. Deterministic by design: the same data always produces the same result.
- Scheduling. Mentors publish time slots, one-off or weekly recurring; mentees book them. Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams links generate automatically; Jitsi video is built in with zero setup; Google and Outlook calendars sync two-way with conflict detection.
- Structure. Programs define sessions: predefined meeting topics with separate briefs for mentor and mentee, date windows, and questions before and after each meeting. Meeting notes are emailed to both sides; private notes stay private. Prefer a lighter touch? Freestyle mode with per-meeting feedback works too.
- Engagement. Super Reminders nudge exactly the right people: never-logged-in users, pairs behind on sessions, unfilled forms, missing matching feedback. Announcements target mentors, mentees, or everyone, with comments closed, open, moderated, or admin-only.
- Oversight. The Guide & Dashboard shows Program Health across eleven live dimensions (coverage, momentum, stalled pairs, next-meeting pipeline) with plain-language advice (“4 mentees are still waiting for a match; run Calculate”). A Coordination Center lets big programs assign coordinators per match without losing the full picture.
- Support. Participants read role-specific guides in the app and send support requests to a Kanban board all program admins share. Replies go out under the program’s name, identity-masked, in each user’s language.
- Recognition & reporting. Rule-based certificates with public verification pages and LinkedIn sharing; eight report types exported as CSV, Excel, or PDF with charts.
What makes Mentornity different?
It’s built for every kind of program, not just corporate. The same platform runs employee mentoring with SAML SSO, accelerator mentor networks with office-hour booking, university alumni programs with applications and certificates, community mentoring with self-selection, and women’s leadership programs with circles and funder-ready reporting. Roles are renameable (coach, advisor, expert, alumnus) so the platform speaks your community’s language.
Matching you can defend. Scores aren’t a black box: every rule, weight, and result is visible in the comparison modal, and the algorithm is deterministic. When someone asks “why were these two matched?”, you show them.
Localization that’s real. Six platform languages, and all 35+ notification email types delivered in each recipient’s own language. A program in Istanbul, Amsterdam, and São Paulo reads naturally to everyone.
Pricing without the enterprise wall. Free up to 10 users, from $289/month after, 50% off for education, no setup fees. Most enterprise alternatives will not quote a price before a sales call. See the full mentoring software comparison guide.
Who is Mentornity for?
Program administrators first. HR and L&D managers, accelerator program leads, alumni-relations teams, community organizers, and women’s-network leaders, the people accountable for a program actually working. Mentors and mentees get a clean, guided experience; admins get the control room.
If that’s you, the fastest way to evaluate is to run a real pilot: create a free program with up to 10 users, follow the built-in checklist, and see your first matches scored the same day. A human from the team helps with setup, free, and in your language if it’s one of the six.
