Australian startups raised $5.1 billion across 390 deals in 2025, up 24% year on year, according to Forbes Australia's coverage of the Cut Through Venture funding report. Funding in the fourth quarter alone was $2 billion, the strongest quarter since 2021.

In the Startup Muster 2025 survey, the average startup founder is 46, according to a launch address by Assistant Minister Andrew Leigh. Fifty-nine percent of startups in the survey have revenue, though many are still looking for capital, customers or talent.
