Investment in Austin-based startups rose 64.8% to $7.19 billion in 2025, an all-time high and above the $6.1 billion raised in 2021, according to Crunchbase data. Deal counts fell from 312 in 2024 to 272, and $4 billion of the 2025 total went to late-stage rounds.
The largest Austin round of 2025 was a $1 billion Series C for energy provider Base Power in October. Statewide, Texas startups raised 72% more in 2025 than in 2024, and the gap to Massachusetts narrowed to about $4 billion.
