Together Mentoring Alternative: Together vs Mentornity

Updated: October 8, 2026 7 min read

A Together mentoring alternative is worth looking at if you want published pricing, a free way to start, or a platform built for more than corporate HR programs. Together is an employee mentoring platform sold through demos and custom quotes. Mentornity publishes its prices per country and is free for up to 10 users. Which one fits depends on your program, not on a feature count.

This page sets out what each vendor says about itself, side by side, so you can decide what to ask in a demo.

Read this first. Mentornity publishes this page, so we are an interested party. Everything about Together below comes from Together’s own website, checked in October 2026, with the page named next to each fact. We did not include review scores or Together’s own performance figures. Prices and features change: confirm everything with Together before you decide.

What is Together?

Together describes its product as mentoring software that helps an organization “drive performance through relationships”, with the headline “Create Mentoring Programs Employees Love” (source: togetherplatform.com, checked October 2026).

What the vendor lists on its own pages:

  • Who it is for. Human Resources, Learning and Development, department leads and community managers. Customer stories are grouped by company size, from under 1,000 to more than 10,000 employees (source: togetherplatform.com, checked October 2026).
  • Program types. One-to-one, group, reverse, peer and flash mentoring, plus employee resource groups (source: togetherplatform.com/mentoring-software, checked October 2026). Separate products cover informal peer learning (Colleague Connect), virtual coffee chats and development programs (source: togetherplatform.com, checked October 2026).
  • Matching. A matching algorithm that can be customized, based on goals, skills and growth areas (source: togetherplatform.com/mentoring-software, checked October 2026).
  • Scheduling. Calendar integration and automated meeting reminders, with alerts when pairs miss meetings (source: togetherplatform.com/mentoring-software, checked October 2026).
  • Reporting. Reports on sign-ups, participation, goal completion and session feedback, and a “Health Monitor” that flags matches that are not meeting (source: togetherplatform.com/mentoring-software, checked October 2026).
  • Security. “Together is SOC 2 certified and supports SAML & SSO” (source: togetherplatform.com, checked October 2026).
  • Languages. A “Multi-language” item appears in the site menu. We did not find a list of supported languages on Together’s own pages.

How does Together pricing work?

Together does not publish prices. Its pricing page describes “custom solutions” and sends you to a demo. It states three things about how the price is built (source: togetherplatform.com/pricing, checked October 2026):

  1. Active users. You “only pay for actively matched users that are actually participating”.
  2. What goes into a quote. The number of learners, the match types and your program goals.
  3. What is included. Implementation and support, with no initiation fees. All plans list intelligent matching, program templates, tracking and reporting, HRIS and SSO integrations, and scalable support.

The page names no plans and shows no amounts. If you are comparing costs, ask Together for a written quote at your expected number of matched participants, and ask how “actively matched” is measured over a contract year.

Mentornity takes the opposite approach: the price is published for each country, it is free for up to 10 users, and white labeling and SAML SSO are priced separately. Neither model is right for everyone. A quote can bundle services a published price leaves out, and a published price lets you budget before a sales call.

When is Together the better fit?

Together is a sensible choice in several situations, and you should know them before you switch.

  • Your HR stack drives the decision. Together names specific HRIS integrations (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR, UKG) and a REST user API and SFTP for data. If automatic sync with one of those systems is a hard requirement, Together lists it; Mentornity’s pages do not.
  • Procurement needs SOC 2. Together states it is SOC 2 certified. If your security review requires a SOC 2 report, that is a direct match.
  • You live in Slack or Microsoft Teams. Together lists Slack invitations and a Microsoft Teams app. If participants rarely leave chat tools, that matters.
  • You want implementation bundled. Together says implementation and support are included in its pricing, which suits teams who want a vendor-led rollout.
  • You run several formats in one place. Together lists ERGs, coffee chats, peer learning and an Absorb LMS connection next to mentoring. If one employee-connection platform is the goal, its product range is broader in that direction.

When might a lighter tool fit?

A self-serve platform with published pricing can make more sense when:

  • You want to try it before a sales call. With a free plan you can build the program, import real profiles and run matching before anyone asks for a contract.
  • Your program is not a corporate HR program. Accelerators, universities, alumni networks and communities often need public application forms, office-hour booking and certificates more than HRIS sync.
  • You need to explain every match. If participants or sponsors ask why two people were paired, a rule-based score with each rule shown can be easier to defend. Our guide to matching mentors and mentees covers how to design those rules.
  • Your participants work in several languages. Check which languages each vendor actually supports in the interface and in notification emails, and ask for a demo in each one.
  • Budget has to be known up front. A published per-country price lets you get approval without waiting for a quote.

What questions should you ask in a demo?

Whichever vendor you evaluate, the same questions surface the real differences:

  1. What will we pay at our expected number of participants, in writing, including SSO and any setup?
  2. How does matching decide, and can an admin see and override why a pair was suggested?
  3. How do participants book meetings, and which calendars and video tools are connected?
  4. Which languages does the interface run in, and are emails sent in each person’s language?
  5. Can we run a short pilot with real mentors and mentees before signing an annual contract?

Frequently asked questions

How much does Together mentoring software cost?

Together does not publish prices. Its pricing page describes custom solutions and points you to a demo, and says you only pay for actively matched users who are participating, with implementation and support included and no initiation fees (togetherplatform.com/pricing, checked October 2026). To get a number, you need to book a demo and request a quote.

Does Together have a free plan or free trial?

We did not find a free plan or free trial on Together's website in October 2026. The site offers a personalized demo and a self-guided product tour instead. Mentornity is free for up to 10 users with every feature switched on, if you want to try a platform with your own data before talking to sales.

What is a good alternative to Together for mentoring programs?

It depends on why you are looking. If you need published pricing, a free start, or a program outside the corporate HR setting, such as a university, accelerator or community, compare self-serve platforms like Mentornity. If you need a long HRIS integration list and SOC 2 documentation, Together and other enterprise vendors may suit you better.

Is Together only for large companies?

Together says it is built for organizations and names HR, Learning and Development, department leads and community managers as its users. Its customer stories cover companies from under 1,000 to more than 10,000 employees (togetherplatform.com, checked October 2026). Its site is written mainly for employers rather than schools or open communities.

Which integrations does Together list?

Together's integrations page names Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, BambooHR and UKG for HRIS, Outlook, Office 365 and Google Calendar, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and Google Meet, Slack, Google Workspace, Absorb LMS, and SAML/SSO, plus a REST user API, SFTP and CSV import (togetherplatform.com/integrations, checked October 2026).

Is this comparison neutral?

No. Mentornity publishes this page and is one of the two products compared. We used only what Together states on its own website, cited the page and the date we checked it, and included a section on when Together is the better fit. Verify every detail with both vendors before you decide.
